This work investigates the industrial production of styrene‐butadiene rubber in a continuous reactor train, and proposes a soft sensor for online monitoring of several processes and polymer quality variables in each reactor. The soft sensor includes two independent artificial neural networks (ANN). The first ANN estimates monomer conversion, solid content, polymer production, average particle diameter, and average copolymer composition; the second ANN estimates average molecular weights and average branching degrees. The required ANN inputs are: (i) the reagent feed rates into the first reactor and (ii) the reaction heat rate in each reactor. The proposed ANN‐based soft sensor proved robust to several measurement errors, and is suitable for online estimation and closed‐loop control strategies.

Silica gel provides a useful medium for crystal growth; solution growth is confined to pores left free by the polymer during its development. All growth steps depend on the gel structure, which is not completely known for crystal growth conditions. Therefore, a three-dimensional (3-D) visualization has been performed for two TMOS aqueous gels, which are rather fragile: the quick-freeze, deep-etching, rotary-replication method has been applied for sample preparation. An original surface labeling technique has been used for surface recognition. The results concern the distribution of macropores that are responsible for crystal nucleation; micropores whose total volume is larger have not been visualized due to the limits of the method. Semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) of poly(ethylene glycol), poly(vinyl alcohol) and polyacrylamide were prepared as a support for enzyme immobilization and kinetic studies were performed for the immobilization of -amylase. The effect of IPN composition on the extent of immobilization was investigated and the percentage of relative activity of the immobilized enzyme was evaluated as a function of the chemical architecture of the IPNs, pH and temperature, taking starch as a substrate. Inverse gas chromatography (IGC) was applied to characterize the surface energy of organically modified silicates (ormosils) by measuring the interaction of molecular organic probes with the ormosil surface. A Markovian network process describes the movement of discrete units among a set of nodes that process the units. There is considerable knowledge of such networks, often called queueing networks, in which the nodes operate independently and the routes of the units are independent. The focus of this study, in contrast, is on networks with dependent nodes and routings. Examples of dependencies are parallel processing across several nodes, blocking of transitions because of capacity constraints on nodes, alternate routing of units to avoid congestion, and accelerating or decelerating the processing rate at a node depending on downstream congestion. We introduce a general network process representing the numbers of units at the nodes and derive its equilibrium distribution. This distribution takes the form of a product of functions of vectors in which the arguments of the functions satisfy an interchangeability property. This new type of distribution may apply to other multi-variate processes as well. A basic idea in our approach is a linking of certain micro-level balance properties of the network routing to the processing rates at the nodes. The link is via routing-balance partitions of nodes that are inherent in any network. A byproduct of this approach is a general characterization of blocking of transitions without the restriction that the process is reversible, which had been a standard assumption. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions under which a unit moving in the network sees a time average for the unmoved units (called the MUSTA property). A class of circuit-switching open queueing networks is discussed. The main result of the paper is that if extra message flows are not too intensive and the path distribution is mainly concentrated on the paths of (graph) distance 1 (nearest neighbour connections), then the network has a unique stationary working regime, no matter how large the configuration graph of the network is. A new one-dimensional copper coordination polymer chain has been prepared and fully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction,elemental analyses and IR spectroscopy. The compound {[Cu2(C2O4)2(inta)4](inta)}n1 crystallizes in the triclinic system,space group P1,with a=8.4722(5),b=10.9825(6),c=11.6128(6),α=104.8050(10),β=102.5740(10),γ= 109.6890(10)o,V=927.18(9)3,Mr=929.79,Z=1,Dc=1.665 g/cm3,F(000)=475,μ=1.231 mm-1,R=0.0453 and wR=0.1185 for 3290 observed reflections (I > 2σ(I)). Of the compound,the Cu center is octahedrally coordinated with oxalate acting as a tetra-dentate ligand coordinated to the copper atom and each inta serving as a terminal ligand by employing only one N-donor to coordinate with the Cu center. An infinite {Cu2(C2O4)2}∞ chain is formed along the c axis. Furthermore,the 1D chains are held together via extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions to generate a three-dimensional network with 1D channels (ca. 5.491×11.507) where inta molecules are filled. 相似文献
